Cruise lines have been hosting theme cruises for years, usually with an impressive line-up of musical guest and sponsors.
But only Oprah could pull-off a “Girls Getaway Cruise” designed to inspire, motivate and pamper guest.
The three-day getaway aboard Holland America’s newest ship, Nieuw Statendam, was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity as we sailed the Bahamas from January 30th – February 1st, 2019.
The itinerary was filled with motivational talks, breathing and meditation workshops, comedy shows, movies, and a variety of musical guest to keep us entertained. Not to mention the Spa, pools, hot tubs, gym, and awesome view, this was truly a memorable cruise. What I enjoyed the most was the Pajama Party, I felt like a kid again. Focused on self-care, the cruise had more of a retreat like atmosphere than anything else, which made it an awesome experience. Imagine 2,400 women aboard a ship for three days designed to heighten Self-awareness.
We embarked upon a journey of sisterhood and empowerment. As stories were shared in private and open conversations, I got the sense we all shared at least one common reason for being there, the need for self-care, and we were not disappointed.
From the youngest, six years old to the ninety-seven-year-old elder, the experience was amazing.
Thanks to Oprah, her staff and Holland America for such a warm reception and memorable experience.
Research has shown an all Girls Getaway is good for the soul at any age.
